Skin Lightening and/or Bleaching: Fast Solution?

I was wondering if there is any skin bleaching or lightening or whitening creams that I could be able to use. I am black. I do not have a self esteem issue with my skin complexion or anything, I just have these acne scars and dark spots and just these dark, rough surfaces on some parts of my skin, I guess due to shaving. I hate it. Anyways I am actually looking for specific names of products I can use. Thanks.

Skin Lightening and/or Bleaching: Fast Solution?
Obagi Nu-Derm is specially formulated to even out skin complexion. The active ingredient is hydroquinone 4% which fades sunspots and hyperpigmentation from acne.

Nu-Derm also helps smooth out the appearance of your skin and combats the aging of your skin by helping to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

Check out their website www.obagi.com. You can't order it from there but there is good information, you can order it from www.essentialdayspa.com or from a dermatologist or skincare specialist - you need a prescription for the tretinoin(retin-A).

Skin Lightening.... Bleaching?

What does the bleaching process consist of.?

Could i bleach my face?... I know that's wierd but

I really would appreciate any input.

(%26amp; I don't need micheal Jackson for advice.lol)

Skin Lightening.... Bleaching?

if you are a girl, al the other girls will really be jealious of you......... flant it some........ and the guys, they will think you are ever sooooooo pretty...............

use what god give you to your advantage, be proud of your heritage, your self.........
Reply:you don't need to lighten your skin because it will do more harm than good. accept your color for what it is. i'm pretty sure that you are a beautiful person. Why would you want to damage your skin. you'll look 60 by the time you're 35!
Reply:You can use cocoa butter. It also has a good smell. If you rub it all over your body like 2-3 times a day you will see the difference. I used to use it but i dont anymore because i got to the color i wanted!
Reply:Hi, never bleach your face, you can use good face wash, toner as pure rose water and moisturiser.

Skin lightening or Tan?

So I have been reading things about this, that lightening can damage your skin, as well as tanning. I want to lighten my arms so that they seem to be the same color as my face. I plan on being a model, and I was told that you need to have great skin. I don't want a tan, or at least too much of one, because then I would look like everyone else. I need your peoples opinion, and I dont want crap about "trying to be michael jackson". I AM white skined, and dont take that as a racist comment. What would you pick and why?

Skin lightening or Tan?
Tanning (yes, regular exposure to the sun with sunscreen for protection) is the most effective to even your skin tone. It's better to tan than to lighten your skin. There are no products out there on the market to conterract cancer from using skin lighteners. And sweetie, to say that you are "white" skinned is an ignorant statement. It doesn't have anything to do with race. It's "light" skinned.
Reply:i would choose a tan because you can just put on sunscreen and sit in the sun, relaxing and easy.
Reply:just leave them alone and see what happens if they bother u more just wear long sleeved shirts you will see how fast they lighten up winter is coming anyway don't waste money on what can be done naturally
Reply:You don't want skin damage? THEN THERE'S ONLY ONE ANSWER. Cover yourself or wear skin blocking. I was tan constantly when I was a teenage (I made it a point, I was even mistaken for another race once, and was proud of it - hey, it was a great tan!). Now, the check's come in, lol. Don't "scratch" the bumps on your skin, it causes "white" spots in your late 30's and 40's, just let them be. Stay away from tanning beds and the sun, they are NOT good for your skin, just get enough sunlight for your health (vitamin d), and you'll never regret it as you get older or even now. The "Wan" look is always in!
Reply:do not do anything ! get a tan via spray tan since it is not as damaging as either as tanning in a tanning booth or lightening which also damages your skin! spray tan is your best bet when it comes to damaging your skin!
Reply:During cold months, your skin will naturally get lighter in color because you will be wearing long sleeve clothes all day. Skin lightening does not necessarily damage your skin, but you must be careful when choosing skin lightening products, as some ingredients may be harmful. Because you're white skinned, I don't see any point lightening your skin chemically. Why not try exfoliating your arms regularly. Exfoliation will help remove dead skin cells on your skin surface, and therefore stimulate new skin cells. Your skin will get lighter after a while.
Reply:just do a Mystic Tan...its safe and no damage of any sort
Reply:I take that your arms are darker than your face? I'm assuming your arms are just tan...

If so, to save you skin troubles in the future, just cover up your arms with sleeves. Wear dark-colored or tightly woven jackets or sweaters. Winter is coming up too (...depending where you are) so at least that could be a reason to cover up.

I know agencies usually want their models to have nice, smooth skin, without too many blemishes and stuff like that so definitely don't do the lightening nor the tanning. As you said, these ARE damaging to the skin. One reason agencies want models with 'great' skin is because make-up is easier to apply and goes on smoothly and of course, looks better. Damaged skin doesn't look too good...

Also, getting a tan with sunscreen on, for the intention of "protection", still equals damage. A TAN itself is damage. Reason is A LOT of sunscreens only protect against UVB rays (burning) and not UVA (tanning).

So again, I'd say just wear sleeves. Dark-colored and tightly woven ones will protect the skin more from the sun, and thus, tanning and damage, than loosely-woven or light-colored sleeves.

I'd also recommend using an Alpha Hydroxy Acid product (AHA) like Glycolic Acid or Lactic Acid. These are chemical exfoliants and help speed up dead skin cell turnover. If you do indeed have 'tan' arms, just apply a daily AHA product to your arms, cover up with sleeves and your arms will lighten to its natural color much faster. * AHAs are known to cause sun sensitivity and could therefore allow for more sun damage BUT, that's if you're using a very high percentage of Acid (anything beyond 20%) and at a very low pH level (lower than 3). Daily AHA products found over-the-counter at department or drugstores are generally safe and do not sensitize the skin.

So ... please don't do the lightening or getting a tan. And as for spray-ons... I do believe when being a model, agencies want you as natural as it can get and only they'll put the fake stuff on you ...
Reply:Hi,

The thing is if u want to be a model, they usually do everything on set for you, depending on the look they want to go for.

they will either spray tan you (if they want a broz=nzed look for example), or put white make up on u (if they want a giesha look for example), make-up is soooo advanced it can do anything, and also there is always airbrushing!!

Whilst doing runwalk shows they usually use bronzer if they want to tan you up.

I wouldnt pick anyhtuing as all things contain chemicals and will ruin ur skin in the future. Modeling agengcies will see your potential from other things i.e hieght, features etc, tanning and lightening i would leave to the experts.
Reply:I would suggest leaving your skin alone. I have worked in fashion and entertainment for over ten years. If you have what it takes to be a model (height, bone structure, the right look, etc) it will not matter if your skin color is perfect. So much makeup and airbrushing goes into each photo shoot. Trust me.

What are some good skin lightening soaps, or lotion i can get in stores?

What are some good skin lightening soaps, or lotions i can get in stores? Im trying to get my natural skin tone back, and get rid of my tanning. So what are some good products (lotion, or soap) that lighten your skin, or remove tans. In addition, are there any natural remidies that lighten your skin, and remive tans? Thank you in addition to all your awnsers. (THE PRODUSTS SHOULD BE AVALIABE IN STORES AT CALIFORNIA) im looking for something $0-$30, and wont harm your skin (i have oily skin). Please help. Thankyou for taking time to awnser my ?'s. You Rock!!

What are some good skin lightening soaps, or lotion i can get in stores?
I too have skin that can get a dark tan easily, there were times before when I needed to lighten up my skin. Try going to a Filipino store and purchase a soap that is called Likas Papaya Herbal Soap or Block %26amp; White Papaya Soap. Theres this other soap I really like but I don't know if they have it its called Godiva Licorice Transparent Whitening Soap. Showering and bathing more than once a day is must and use a washcloth. Keep yourself hydrated (drink water, juices that are natural high in vitamin C such as mango juice, pineapple juice) Use lotion/sunscreen.
Reply:Try going to some Filipino supermarket like Family Loompia or Seafood City and go to the counter with all the lottery tickets and stuff. There should be a variety of whitening soaps and lotions. I suggest using Block%26amp; White. It really works, but it works even better if you buy the lotion, too.

If you do plan on using whitening soaps or lotions, you shouldn't go out very much because it can make you even darker faster. You'll probably get your natural skin tone back in two- three weeks.

If you don't have any Filipino stores where you live, you should talk to your dermatologist. It may cost more but it will work faster than Block%26amp; White.

I hope this helps. :]
Reply:there's a good source of skin lightening soaps from an asian seller that's really safe AND potent.. i've used their products to maintain my original fair skin color to date.. among several skin lighteners i've tried, homemade and branded, only this one got my vote until now -
Reply:Hello you can get it here online stores. Try the kojic acid soap or black whitening soap and whitening lotion and whitening cream. The skin whitening set of 3 only $26.99 and thats the lowest price but the best diana stalder skin whitening as Dr vicki Belo sell the same product...You can check the customers testimonials and they have varity of skin whitening products...

Is there anyone that tried skin lightening/whitening bleach or creams that were effective in making there skin quiet a bit more fair, because my skin keeps getting darker and i need something also would a dermatologist be able to help?PS(i dont wanna hear that OOOH WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO LIGHTEN YOUR SKIN?!) because nobody cares when the whole world is frying themselves outside in the sun.

Skin lightening/whitening creams?
Bleaching creams that are effective are only available by a prescription. You need to see a dermatologist to determine if you have a treatable condition, and, if so, which of several prescriptions would be most effective.

Triluma and Lustra are two most common.

Reply:just try some coconut water and nothing else coz the creams r never helpful, rather they harm ur skin. just pu some of it oon ur skin in the morning and night andkeep it for atleast 15minutes. u'll see it works!!
Reply:Ask micheal Jackson, if you are not a 12 year-old boy.

This drive me crazy, why would you want to change your skin color? If your getting darker its probably because of the sun when the winter months come around you will fade again. try using a sunblock instead of bleaching your skin. i have 2 mixed kids and we live in florida we go to the beach every weekend when it is not raining and they get darker then it fade the same as my skin. i just dont understand why someone would want to bleach/lighten whatever you want to call it, i am sure your a beautiful color.
Reply:use the one my uncle uses, he got black. went to night school and was marked absent.
Reply:see a dermatologist because there is stuff available but it might be expensive for you. stay out of the sun
Reply:you could call Michael Jackson's dermatologist.....

Reply:I wouldn't waste the money on over the counter creams-they don't work-It's best to go to your Dermatologist and get a prescription. Good luck!!!
Reply:Hey I have never tried any of that stuff. Why not just use a sunscreen whenever you are in the sun?

Who cares if your skin gets darker, why is this a problem?

Try lemon juice or skin peels to remove the dead layers. If you use a sunblock every time you go anywhere that should also help. Please understand though that you're probably only going to get a shade or two paler and you probably won't look healthy. Anything more than that would most likely involve removing pigment with a laser and you could end up very, very blotchy.
Reply:email Michael Jackson.
Reply:Esoterica skin cream.
Reply:Try try Avon's SSS Body Wash and use it with the lotion it works especially if you originally have fair skin. You can also go to spas or the derma they know how to whiten skin easily and fast. If you can afford glutathione, (though I never used it before) its a capsule orally taken to whiten skin, i heard movie stars uses it here in our country to achieve white flawless skin. Dermatologist uses and promote it. It can be bought through the drugstore, bit pricey though I even saw injectable.

Don,t go out without sunscreen please.

Hydroquinone is an excellent skin bleacher, but you must wear sunscreen once you start using it, because you can get odd discolored spots from the sun. You must use it 2 times a day for at least 6 weeks before you even notice a difference...

I've been using a 2% formula for almost 1 year and my skin is much lighter than it used to be...
Reply:they all work go to a beauty supply store or walmart. but your dermatologist will not help you unless its sun spot or something like that because trying to become light is bad for you my grandpa's secretary died because they could not sow her skin back because it was soo eroded from that.
Reply:When using a lightening cream make sure you avoid the sun because the cream will make you darker
Reply:If you are having skin problems why not use a product for that and not to lighten your skin? You can use something that can even it out.. that sames much better than frying your skin...Unless you just want to lighten your skin because you do not like your complexion...which would be sad

well i dont think that there are any cremes, that i know of, but theres a pill that u can take. Many stars has used it. Micheal Jackson took it. but he took it alot so hes really white. but other people have taken it to make them a little lighter.
Reply:Try your local drug store in the skin care section. I would rather use a ligtening cream over some tanning product any day.

I once had to write an article abt all these creams. And the research shocked me. This will irritate u since u obviously don't want to hear the truth, but whitening creams are DAMN HARMFUL! Especially for a female, coz they affect the reproductive system. They all contain mercury in doses much exceeded the safe limit! And since u will have to apply the creams systematically, mercury keeps accumulating in u. in the long run ur skin will get completely spoiled, u will not be able to do without these creams at all, and with time they will be less and less effective.

there's no permanent effect with whitening creams. they do work as long as u use them. u stop - and ur skin becomes dark again. Of course, nowadays technology is advanced, and manufacturers try to enhance their production... but there's still NO SAFE CREAM!

I live in Thailand now, here girls r absolutely obsessed with white skin, so I can tell u, that there r plenty of safer solutions - herbs, fruits, vegetables, dairy products - this all can work as bleach. lime, for example, or cucumber, or sour cream... just think - they r natural products giving the same effect as all these creams.

the decision is urs, of course. if u still prefer to go for a cream, at least choose a good international brand.

Actually, you are completely wrong!!! Someone does care and that someone is me. I have always been digusted by white people who tan. I don't understand how they can make fun of us for being dark yet they risk their health to get darker. I am equally as digusted by individuals of color who try to appear more white/light and disguise their self hatred by saying they just want to be more fair-skinned:-(

um.. that depends on your ethnicity also. theres a cream called AMBI, they have all different kinds for different conditions. oily skin, dry skin ect. and it lightens and evens out skin tones. and if the darkening is due to acne you can use just about any rejuvanating moisturizer sold in stores.
Reply:Well I have used skin bleach to fade out acne scars, but I don't know if it is recommended to use over large amounts of the body. I don't know what you are trying to do and its your business but you can try using Othine cream. It has 3% hydroquine which is a skin lightner. Other creams have only 1 to 2 %. Anything stronger you have to get from your dermatologist. Anyway apply it 2-3 times a day. They sell this at most beauty supply stores.

I would definitely see a derm about this. I had a girlfriend that "lightened" her skin on her face and she has light and dark patches now. She bought the really expensive stuff and everything so I would not do it yourself.

Skin tanning or skin lightening?

All you Caucasians out there are so obsessed with tanning, yet when it comes to us Asians, Africans, Latinas, etc. we want to lighten our skin, and you tell us that we're crazy for doing that!?

"Why do you want to whiten your skin?"

"Everyone's getting a tan!"

"You'll look like Michael Jackson if you do!"

err, no. We won't look like MJ. We want to lighten our shades naturally. We lighten our skin to even out our complexion, to have a healthy glow, etc.

We like the look of pale skin. Not the dead-zombie type, but more like...say, northern Chinese type. With long, raven black hair and moonlight pale skin. Also like Japanese Geisha too.

No goth-like, but I like goth look sometimes.

Anyway, which do you prefer? Skin tanning or skin lightening?

And why do you tan? And when it comes to the opposite (skin lightening), why do you oppose it when skin whitening also has safe alternative ingredients that don't contain hydroquinone?

Maybe it is racial and cultural thing?

Skin tanning or skin lightening?
you now people....always not contented of what they have.i would suggest tanning even if i myself is an asian woman because lighter skin means less melanin and is more prone to skin cancer....i love being tan!!!!

I use an SPF 55 sunblock everyday and a parasol (sun umbrella) when I am outside for longer periods of time. And most importantly, just love your skin!!

Reply:I like to keep my skin the color that it naturally is. I'm white, but I'm part Portuguese, so I tan. I don't look so good tan, and I don't want skin cancer, so I wear sun screen all the time. I think that blond women (especially bottle blonds) with fake tans are the ugliest people around. Maybe that's just because I'm in California and they're a dime a dozen. I think that the natural variation of skin colors makes the world interesting, and we should all be happy with what we're given. Why ruin your skin for someone else's version of beauty?

Skin Lightening?

I have this problem during the summer. I'm a light black girl that loves going outside and likes spending time under the sun. My skin is messed up now, my face is half black and half light brown after spend time laying in the grass, my legs is like light brown and dark brown cause I wear shorts, and my arms are all messed up. I need help! I have lots of sunburns too. Do anyone know any products or stuff that you find at home can make your skin lighter. I don't want to bleach my skin and make my self white, just light for the places that is real dark and sunburns. PLEASE HELP!

Skin Lightening?
In the summer I get tan lines too and it all evens out after a few months. I wouldn't try to lighten it at all- just let it fade naturally. And if I were you I would wear sunblock from now on before going out because the older you get the slower the tan fades- in a bad way (for me anyway).
Reply:sounds like ur a zebra
Reply:Don't do it! Once you start altering your skin, you will never be happy and will become lighter and lighter till you look like Michael Jackson pale. If you have uneveness of skin tone try a toner. You can try blending in uneven marks with a self tanning lotion. St. Tropez self tanner looks real and natural. Be careful how much sun exposure you get. If you are overtanning to try to get even you may have an underlying psychiatric disorder known as Body Dysmorphic Disorder.
Reply:Just drink lots of water and eat fruits, those help lighten you back up. You need them anyway to not dehydrate yourself.

And PLEASE don't say, 'Oh your skin is fine! Don't do that! Please. Im looking for a real answer here, If i want my skin back, I can simply discontinue using it.) Thank you!

Reply:well in India theres something called Fair and Lovely. You could just look for it on Ebay or something it really works like magic.
Reply:white paint. they sell it at Home Depot or Lowes.
Reply:You want to be pale? ewww! That is what micheal jackson did! Well you could sit in bleache I guess. I am not too sure though!
Reply:skin lightners use metals in them ...appling them too much might cause cancer ....just hide from the sun and use sunblock and vitamin E
Reply:Sunblock, stay in the shade and wear floppy hats in the sun. If you want to achieve this...do it naturally!

Skin lightening?

does anyone know a helathy way i can lighten my skin??

Why would you want to lighten your skin? Be proud of who you are. Think of yourself as unique.
Reply:Honey, why would you want to do that???

If you have spotty skin, I'd suggest something like Ambi, in Walmart, in the "Ethnic" hair section.

But if you really just want lighter skin, all those things are horrible for you (think Michael Jackson). A girl I went to school with did Ambi just to lighten up (sad) and now she looks so strange. Her face is an entirely different color than her body.

I hope soon you learn to love you.
Reply:ask michael jackson
Reply:You might want to get a hold of Michael Jackson, when he was younger, he was actually black... not brown, but black... He should be able to guide you in the right direction. But you might want to watch out for the side effects, pedophile syndrome...

Reply:Stay out of the SUN ! and if you go in the sun, wear the highest rated SPF all the time

Also try "Kojic acid" ... it's not a "bleach"... it inhibits the formation of pigment
