Yes girl, Diana Stalder products is your best bet. I use the black licorice soap and cream because I have sensitive skin and the Papaya Kojic soap is to strong for me but either soap is good to use. Its all natural and works super fast. That other stuff with HYDROQUINONE don't work and is banned in Europe because it may cause cancer if you use it too long but you don't have to worry with Diana Stalder products because its all natural and 100% safe to use for a long period of time. Hello, I know of a fast and affordable resolution for you to lighten your skin. I use Papaya Kojic soap and whitening cream by Diana Stalder. I have to say that I saw visible results within 3 days and full results within 2 weeks. The Black Licorice soap she sells works well too but in my opinion the Kojic soap works faster and better but everyone is different. If I were you, I would try both soaps to see which one works better for you. For best results get the set of 3 which consist of a soap of your choice, whitening cream and whitening body lotion. I promise if you use this product your skin will be light, flawless and even toned. I have used everything under the sun and nothing ever worked for me but I can surely say this stuff actually works! Reply:I agree with the person "That Je ne sais quois " who uses Diana Stalder products even though I get mine from a different on~line seller. I also agree with "calipinay" who also use Diana Stalder products. I use the Kojic acid soap and whitening cream by Diana Stalder as well. It worked a wonder on my skin. Now I'm flawless and glowing! Being black women we tend to be a bit harder to lighten so when I was introduced to the Kojic soap and cream by a Filipina woman I'm not gonna lie I was very skeptical but the Kojic soap and cream worked and I saw my skin lightening in 5 days. Her Kojic and Licorice products are all natural and will prevent future darkening from happening. Whoever gave "That Je ne sais quois" a thumbs down must be clueless on how wonderful these products really are because they truly changed my life. The dark spots are gone and I'm two shades brighter. Nothing over the counter is going to give you results in two weeks. Please save your money and invest in a good concealer and foundation.
Reply:Lighten skin color? why would you want to do that? As far as I know, you're stuck with the skin you're born with.

But if you mean a certain area (under the eyes) then I'd suggest simple stuff like getting more sleep, drink enough water, and just use some concealer.
Reply:Do you mean Hyperpigmentation? Or the entire lightening of you natural skin tone? There isn't anything that will lighten skin that quickly. If you have sun damage/sun spots you will want to see a aesthetician or a dermatologist. Certain Chemical Peels and home care products that you get at the dermatologist can help lighten the spots. There are also medidcal procedures that can reduce the spots. Good luck!

You can buy them anywhere. They are also referred to fading creams. The main ingredient in these creams is on the back label. It is the bleaching element. Made sure it is not over 2%. If so, you are looking at skin irritation and possible damage. Good luck!

Reply:Try a yogurt mask. Just apply a few tsp. of plain yogurt to your skin and let sit for 10-15 min. and rinse. Over time your skin will lighten. ( You can also do this on your whole body. ) If you wish you can also add lemon juice or honey.

Reply:Yea the papaya soap does work, but it dries out your skin pretty good. You have to be consistent with it and apply lotion afterwards if you are worried about scaling. Depending on how light you want to get is how long it will take. It will lighten your skin gradually, so don't expect to get lighter in a few days.

I dunno. Michael Jackson says his skin just naturally went pale. I guess it's possible, but unless he reveals otherwise, I've never heard of anyone else who has managed such a dramatic change.

Anything you put on the surface of your skin might lighten it temporarily, but that would only be temporary as, when the top layer of skin sloughs off (and this is a continuing process) the lightened skin would slough off as well.

If you are avoiding sunlight to keep your complexion pale, think about taking vitamins (especially D) as you won't be getting that from the sunlight and it is an essential vitamin.

Im considering lightening my skin with lemon juice. I jsut have a few questions about it though:

How long do the results last? Like, how long will it take to fade back to my normal skin color?

yes honey and lemon work well as does that with yogourt. and pineapple all have bleaching properties. JUST make sure you do it a night or NOT when you go out in the sun otherwise you'll end up with blotchy gross skin. you can do it once everyday(night I should say) don't use more than a tablespoon.

Yes, it takes weeks-months to work bc you have to give the skin cells time to shed then grow back bleached, thats what gives you a lighter, even complexion. Remember, you have to keep using it even after it starts working or your skin will darken again.

i have been using an asian product called essence white for about 2 months. it has been the fastest serum to whiten my dark spots. but the problem is the bottle is too small n the price is like $40. i have seen other skin brightening products that are cheaper, but does not work faster like essence white. i am a bit confused. is it time now to switch?

Skin lightners (or 'bleaches') are chemically based. If you don't allow enough time between products, you are mixing chemicals that could give you some really bad reactions or other problems. (Sorry, I can't tell you exactly how long this is)

If the product you are using is effective, then make the effort to find a way to keep using it. That's obviously why it costs more: it works. Why switch back to something cheaper that you don't like?

I tired one to get rid of my freckles and let me tell you, I would never do it again. Bleach is not good for your skin. Just go see a dermatologist. Your family doctor can refer you. If it is that much of a problem then you should definitely look into it further with a professional.

Gee, I'd love to have olive skin.

But if you must try to lighten yours, then ask your doc to prescribe 4% hydroquinone cream. It takes a couple of weeks to see a change. If you're under 25 and also have any old acne scars that need fading, your medical plan might cover part of the price if the doc writes the prescription for that purpose. But a lot of plans consider it to be purely cosmetic.

It's also good for sun damage and age spots.

you cant avoid the sun making your skin darken because the sun's UVB and UVA rays can penetrate even in the shade.. the right products plus a high spf sunscreen will be your best bet.

I used to use this cream on my face a few years ago. It worked great for lightening my face. The only bad thing about it was that it needs to be applied evenly or else it becomes slightly noticeable on the areas you have not applied the cream to. I used it mostly to get rid of dark spots/acne marks on my face but it ended up lightening up my whole face. Personally I have never used any skin lightner creams, but I live in a part of London that a large proportion of Afro-Caribbean people use these products.I have read about the resulting problems that such products can cause to the skin.

Yes it may even lighten the skin, but its at a high cost. Many users of these bleaching creams will tell you that once you begin to use these creams you may have to continue to use them. Also these products contain really harmful products that not only bleaches the skin but makes it weak. The users skin becomes so weak that in some cases it begins to peel off. You know that there are various layers to the human skin, this number begins to decrease.

Another consequence of these bleaching creams is that it may have the opposite effect, for instance instead of the lighter skin colour the user was hoping for; they instead break out in black spots or marks on their skin or in this case their face.This results in marked skin for years.

I remember one trip to a Afro- Caribbean hair shop in Peckham where I went into the shop to buy coco butter. Instead of looking around for the product the assistant tried to sell me bleaching creams. I felt offended because not all black people or darker skinned people want to bleach their skin- yes I have a few blemishes but its not that bad, and its nothing that good MAC make-ip cant cover up!!!!!

I think that if you skin is light and you like the way it looks then please keep it that way. I would tell your friends that you like the way your skin looks, even if they think you are pasty. If you like the way your skin looks, then they should accept who you are. You should not change who you are for someone else, only change who you are if you are not happy with the way you look. I work in a salon/spa with tanning and I do tan myself, but I am still fair skinned. I don't want to look too dark, it would not look natural on me.

If you do want to get a little colour without going into a tanning bed, go for a spray tan, they can even do just your face... it looks natural and it last about a week.

As a fungal metabolic product, kojic acid inhibits the catecholase activity of tyrosinase, which is the rate-limiting, essential enzyme in the biosynthesis of the skin pigment melanin. Kojic acid also is consumed widely in the Japanese diet with the belief that it is of benefit to health. Indeed, it has been shown to significantly enhance neutrophil phagocytosis and lymphocyte proliferation stimulated by phytohemagglutinin. Melanocytes treated with kojic acid become nondendritic with a decreased melanin content. Additionally, it scavenges reactive oxygen species that are excessively released from cells or generated in tissue or blood.

This tyrosinase inhibitor was isolated from a plant herbal extract. The plant roots from which paper mulberry was isolated were collected in Korea. The tyrosinase inhibition of paper mulberry was compared to kojic acid and HQ. The IC50, the concentration causing 50% inhibition of the activity of tyrosinase, was reported to be 0.396% compared to 5.5% for hydroquinone and 10.0% for kojic acid.

Melanostat is a peptide obtained by amino acid synthesis with a technique of Merryfield. It demonstrate an outstanding anti MSH activity experimentally investigated for skin lightening. The target of Melanostat the membrane receptor of alpha-MSH on the melanocytes, the B- MICR receptor , its mode of action is a competitive inhibition of alpha-MSH, membrane receptors are blocked in a natural way. The anti-MSH is a molecule naturally present in the skin. It belong to the system of regulation of the pigmentation. Melanostat counterbalances the formation of melanin and especially the synthesis of tyrosinase, key enzyme involved in the process of pigmentation. In the skin, alpha-MSH plays an essential role in the stimulation of the synthesis of melanin. This process is under the control of an anti—MSH, also naturally present in the skin.

Recently, researches performed on alpha- MSH enabled a detailed study of the structure and function of this molecule, so as the exact determination of its receptor. This receptor is B receptor, its scientific determination is MICR receptor. The study of these molecules enabled researchers to synthesize peptides with a similar (MSH-like), or antagonist (anti-MSH) activity. The structure of Melanostat antagonist peptide of the alpha-MSH, is relatively similar to the structure of alpa-MSH. Because of this similarity, Melanostat acts while competing the receptors of alpha-MSH on the melanocytes. The action of Melanostat occurs before the action of the well-known inhibitors. Which acts on the intracellular enzyme system. Melanostat does not penetrate the cell because its competitive activity initiates on membrane receptors. Its action enables a natural and reversible blockage of the membrane receptors, without disturbing the physiological functioning of the cutaneous cells. Thus, Melanostat counteracts the formation of melanin and notably the synthesis of tyrosinase, key enzyme of the pigmentation process of the skin. The anti-MSH molecule naturally exist in the organism, and is involved in a system that regulates melanogenesis. It is activated in season changes. When sunshine is high, the amount of alpha MSH exceed the amount of anti-MSH. The receptors for alpha-MSH multiply at the surface of the cells. The results is an increase of the synthesis of the melanin and the rise of the pigmentation of the skin. When the sunshine is low, anti-MSH exceed alpha-MSH. The receptors at the surface of the melanocytes decrease. The synthesis of melanin is not stimulated anymore, pigmentation of the skin decreases. Thus, alpha-MSH and anti-MSH play the role of accelerator or brake for the synthesis of melanin. Depending on the predominance of anti-MSH or alpha-MSH, the color of the skin evolves in a away or another.

The incorporation of Melanostat in skin lightening creams will place the skin in a physiological dominant anti-MSH situation. Its action is based on the reinforcement of the natural ability of the skin to counteract the activity of alpha-MSH. Melanostat has been investigated in vivo against alpha MSH: the darkening of the skin induced by alpha-MSH is assessed and expressed in percentage of change by comparison with the normal situation.

It is a fact that lemon is very acidic as previously mentioned, in fact I have used it on my hair...Disaster, maybe I didn't do it right. There is a big variety of whitening creams on the market, why don't you try one of those?I'm afraid it might give you a rash and itching cause lemon is commonly used to enlighten dark but also hard areas of our body such as elbows. knees, toes. The skin of your neck is very delicate and one of the first areas to develop wrinkles...using lemon would be such a mistreatment. Good luck whatever you do!

Lightening skin?

Over the past few years i've gotten ALOT of sun exposure. Now my face and arms are very dark, while the rest of my body is PALE! I hate having uneven skin tones, and i look much better with fair skin.

Soak a piece of cloth with milk in the fridge, then wait for about few hours, then you can put it as mask on your face. Result is good.

I'm currently trying to lighten some areas of brown spots on my skin and I'm torn between either going for a natural cocktail of honey and lemon juice _or_ a hydroquinoine skin cream.

you only have 9 days left... the skin lightening process involves exfoliation/peeling of the outermost skin layer.. you should have started this a month ago yet.. when skin peels, a fresher lightened layer resurfaces.. again, make sure you wear sunscreen when outdoors..

My daughter is dark complected and would like to find something to lighten her skin. I would like to find something safe that will not cause any damage to her beautiful youthful skin. Summer is comming and we have a very hard time of it. She lives is SPF 50 sunscreen and still tends to get even darker. If anyone has tried any products that work and have not caused any nasy side effects please share your knowledge.

I don't know of any skin lightening cream that is safe but I've heard and tried some home remedies. (I have some tan spots that I would like to make paler) Rubbing lemon on your skin for maybe 5 minutes and rinsing it off with warm water seemed to work for me. It kind of burns but that is normal since lemon is an acidic fruit. I don't think that it damaged the skin. Rubbing slightly sour milk on the dark parts of skin also worked. Use some milk that's a few days after the experation date and rub it on your skin for about 10 minutes. Rinse well with warm water. Neither of these work after one try so in order to see some lighter skin, they will have to be done about 2 to 3 times a week. Everybody's skin is different so I don't know if these will work for your daughter but I hope that they do. You can find more home remedies if you google it.

I was also dusky in color.i followed these tips and got better.

1) Amazing bath cream:

In morning times,before and after facing the sun take this bath cream...This will surely eliminate the effects of sun while going out and also after returning home.

take 2 spoons of wheat flour/ oat meal/ besan powder and mix it with sour curd/ yogurt.apply it all over body ..have a scrub bath. use it instead of soap.

2)always apply sunscreen creams of spf greater than 15 before going out in day times.

3)Night whitening agent:

mix 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil, 1/4 cup water, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar.This is a very good skin whitener.

u can safely preserve it in a bottle.

Or... you could just make a scrub so that old skin will be removed and a new layer of skin will open up. Most likely it will be lighter than your current skin. All you do it mix baking soda, sugar, and lemon juice.

Here are some simple home remedies that you can do to lighten the skin tone and get a lighter complexion. However, they must be done regularly and best results are obtained if they are inculcated as a part of daily routine.

Mix 1 tsp of milk powder, 1 tsp of honey, 1 tsp of lemon juice, and ½ tsp of almond oil. Apply on face and wash off after 10-15 minutes. This pack helps bring shine to the skin and also removes tan.

Mix oatmeal with curd and tomato juice and apply on the face. Keep it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. It helps remove the tan and lightens the skin.

Place sliced raw potato on the face. It helps reduce blemishes and other marks.

Applying turmeric powder along with lime juice removes the tan. Lime juice is a natural bleach.

Dried orange peels mixed with curd also help reduce blemishes and scars. Wash off this mixture with cold water after 15 minutes.

Soak 4 almonds overnight. Grind into a fine paste using milk. Apply on face and neck and leave it overnight. Wash with cold water in the morning. Do this daily for 15 days, followed by twice a week.

A tbsp of gram flour mixed with 2 tsp of raw milk and 2-3 drops of lime juice works well for lightening dark skin. Apply this mixture and leave it for 15 minutes before washing off. Repeat for 4 weeks and follow up with once a week.

Apply a paste of fresh ground mint leaves and leave it for about 20 minutes. Wash with cold water, continue for 15 days.

Apply a mixture of grated tomato with 2-3 drops of lime juice on the face. Leave it for 20 minutes before washing off. Do this twice a day for 15-20 days for best results.

Balanced Diet

Although there are no particular foods that will lighten your skin instantly, a balanced diet definitely helps by giving your skin a healthy glow. Drinking an optimum amount of water hydrates your skin and keeps it blemish free. Some recommendations regarding diet are as follows –

Avoid excessive consumption of heavy and oily foods.

Incorporate whole cereals, pulses, fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet.

Drink at least 4-5 liters of water every day. Water washes out the toxins from the body.
