I am half north indian (aryan-jat) and half malaysian. I am a caramel/golden color and I think I am fine. A bit darker than I would like, but fine. My grandmother and aunt are a pale sickly shade though. Their skins are naturally about the same shade as mine-(probably lighter) but they apply all this pale foundation and creams which although disperses melanin and makes their skin lighter, it gives them a sickly dull shade with no vibrance whatsoever that comes from natural beauty. Skin lightening creams are extremely popular in India because lighter skin is a sign of beauty for most-all Indians. This is also true for many other women of colour. Anyhow, my grandma ships me in bottles and bottles of the creams which I only apply on my hands beause I want to show that I am using them, but not put them on my face. By my grandma sending me in bottles and bottles and often commeting on skin colour, I often feel lost into what I should do-be proud for what I am %26amp; not worry? What do you think?
What should I do about a skin-lightening dilema?? HELP?
Don't mess yourself up. If you're happy and content with the way you look-- you're a step ahead of most people. If you make yourself look sickly and dull your not going to feel good about yourself. Be proud of who and what you are and don't worry about this any longer.
Reply:I think you should be proud of the color of your skin it is how God intended it
Reply:Don't worry about lightening your skin, be proud of the color you were born with. If you keep using that stuff, you'll mess up your skin and you really won't feel that great about yourself. you have a beautiful completion, be proud and be true to yourself.

That is SO not true!
India has a caste system which is partly based on skin tone.
Reply:I think it's a very common way of thinking and deep rooted.
But wrong.
Love the skin you're in.!
